After broad consultation within the South African Travel Industry, we have refocused the direction and goals of the ASATA Professional Programme, which has resulted in this brand new APP online system.

I urge you to read the About APP page before logging-in as it will give you a good idea of what the new Professional Programme can do for you and how it differs from the previous one.

NB. If you have ever before participated in the APP your personal particulars has been imported to the new system. Your old access codes will still work, but if you've forgotten them the system has a facility to email them to you, even if your email address has changed in the interim. Simply go to Mail my Access Codes.

You too can be a South African FUNDI!

In the past we have received requests for training programmes on selling skills and destination knowledge. Therefore ASATA and South African Tourism have embarked on a joint marketing initiative that will assist in up-skilling and encouraging Travel Professionals such as yourself to become FUNDIs on their own country. The SAT FUNDI programme is an efficient and fun way to learn how to deliver good advice about what South Africa has to offer.

Here's a brief list of some of the benefits the FUNDI programme can bring to you and your agency:

• Tap into a new market on your doorstep – the South African individual or family looking for premium product in South Africa!
   
• You make a name for yourself - become known as the Consultant that travellers go to for their answers about South Africa.
   
• Knowledge increases success, and in turn your reputation and potential earnings.
   
• You become flexible and adaptable for each of your clients' demands in this dynamic market.
   
• Whether your clients are travelling on holiday or on business with time to spare, you are now in a position to provide additional suggestions for their trip, adding value to the consumer and increasing your agency's bottom line.

Once you have completed the FUNDI course online and been assessed, you will receive a certificate from SAT. In addition, Consultants employed by an ASATA Member Agency will receive a unique co-branded decal of the Welcome Man for your agency door.

Further to this, you will earn 15 points on the ASATA Professional Programme, plus you will be able to add your new local knowledge to your list of competencies in your destinations skills profile.
