Dear ASATA Members & Partners
We have specifically chosen the theme "EXCELLENCE BY
DESIGN" as good service, good systems and world class
processes don’t happen by chance in this economic climate, but
must be carefully designed.
This year's conference will be taking place at Sun City and in
keeping with the feedback we received from you, we have kept the
cost to our Members to an absolute minimum. We will be removing
the ASATA Awards event from the conference agenda and introduce
an annual ASATA Awards event which will be hosted in one of the
main centers, changing each year between Cape Town, Johannesburg
and Durban. This way we believe we will attract more of the
nominees and this event can become one of the key industry
events of the travel calendar.
ASTA's International Design Exhibition
One of the highlights of this ASATA Conference is the fact
that we have the opportunity to network with our American
colleagues. The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) will be
hosting their International Destination Exhibition (IDE) at Sun
City over the same period and ASATA Members will be registered
to attend the IDE over the two days. We have co-ordinated the
programme to give you sufficient time to visit the exhibition
and we will be joining ASTA for an evening together.
A pre-requisite that was outlined in the feedback we received
from our Members, was to host more panel discussions. You spoke
and as always, we listened. A couple of panel discussions will
include the Members of the World Travel Agents Association
Alliance (WTAA) of which ASATA is a founding member, as well as
some of the American Travel Agency owners.
We look forward to welcoming you to Sun City and thank you once
again for your continued support of everything ASATA.
Kindest regards

Robyn Christie - ASATA CEO
