Colosseum, Island Club
and Crystal Towers
All that was missing was Austin Powers
The service was great, the food was divine
Thanks to Budget we arrived on time
The 50th congress of ASATA was underway
As all delegates gathered for the start of the day
Our President, not the country’s welcomed all to the event
And assured us that there was money to be spent
Mmatšatši was a breath of fresh air
As she hosted each day with elegant flair
This “darky” was a barrel of fun
As she showed us how the disky was done
Hop-a-long Robyn with an ever ready smile
Assured us the congress would be worthwhile
She thanked and welcomed all who had come
Especially her team for all they had done
Mr Chaplin, that’s Kevin, not the Charlie we know
Began the first day with an inspiring show
The soccer, the energy and excitement was real
Positivety not negativity was the real deal
Justice Malala didn’t think it quite fair
That Kevin could speak about balls in the air
Zumanomics and Malema it just wasn’t fit
That he had to speak about Julius’
It’s just all noise he assured all of us
There really isn’t anything just media fuss Zorgvliet wine really made the mood flow
As a picturesque sunset on the pool deck did show
We networked and chatted and drank a bit more
And soon two fingers were looking like four
The narrator began, Justin’s his name
Motivational speaking his claim to fame
Tales to tell about cavemen and all
How stories began with pictures on a wall
Tell a live story not a dead one
That way business becomes more fun
The way to go is environmentally green
As Wayne of Avis shared with us his money saving scheme
Not only saving money but doing so much more
For global warming and their carbon footprint score
Kevin James let us know that you can be carbon free
Just exchange your travel carbon and buy a tree
Moyo at Spiers in Avis buses we descended
With face painting and dining we surrendered
To the sound of the drums, singing and more
As we watched Scot do disky on the dance floor
Google, Expedia you know what they claim
One of these days we won’t need your brain
The computer and technology is well in advance
So enjoy your own thinking while you have a chance
An incident happened on the 6th floor
Involving a bucket….need I say more?
We can hear Justin saying “there’s a story tell,
About a traveler improvising when things don’t go well”
The ASATA constellation, like the Milky Way
Is our gateway to business in travel today
Congratulations to all ASATA awards won
As we partied at Pigalle’s with Three Tons of Fun
To the old Board members and new, from me
I’m proud to be part of the travel industry
Thanks must go to American Express
Who enabled an evening to de-stress
To our sponsors SAA,City Lodge, Europcar
To Bbagzz, Diners Club, Travelport and
Qatar
Thanks to you the Amadeus team
My pen to paper is on your computer screen.

I wish to thank you for the invitation to join you, your team,
your members and all associates at the very successful 2010 ASATA
Congress held in Cape Town during March 2010. As usual, you chose
a fantastic new venue which I was certainly not aware of before
arriving at the hotel. Congratulations on a great Congress, with
great organization, wonderful hospitality and quality
presentations which I thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks once again
and I look forward to building on the great working relationship
between our two Associations.

A quick note to congratulate you on a fantastic
50th Birthday ASATA Conference, you certainly raise the bar every
year, SAVRALA is honoured to be associated with ASATA, our
sponsorship of the car rental award this year was also great. The
venue was first class, with most of the speaker’s top class, I
particularly enjoyed Justice and Justin they were superb! I
realise that our industry have a long way to go when it comes to
embracing the global warming issues and understanding the concept
of a greener environment...

A very big thanks for an amazing conference, this
was my first conference and definitely not my last I really did
learn a lot from this conference. The Crystal Towers hotel the
service and the food were excellent. The speakers were
outstanding, my favorite being Justin Cohen and Justice Malala and
I got to spend some great time with friends in our industry. One
could certainly see the Time and hard work that went into the
conference, as it was so well organized. Thank you for my
beautiful gift I love it and of course my award which I am so
proud of.
